Simply Brilliant! This lens for me fills two roles: one as a 55mm standard lens on my A7R, and as a 82.5mm lens on my A6300 making it the perfect portrait lens. Everything from sharpness to lack of distortion to build quality is as good as it gets. I love using it and I love the results even more.

Beautiful lens This was the first lens i purchased for my A7iii. It's a fantastic lens, creates beautiful depth of field and is great in lower light conditions. Highly recommend.

Great lens [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lens nearly 3 years ago and Sony just last week notified me that it was registered. That said my review is one that has given me ample time to review. It’s the lens that is on my camera most of the time. I love it

Sharpest lens I've ever used I was really amazed by the details of this little lens when I take the first photo.... I have used a99 (135 f1.8, 70-200, 35 1.4), a77 (16-50) and many other cameras and prime lenses before but this lens sharpness beats every other lenses I've used to date. This lens g...

Very Sharp! Bought this lens with my first Sony body and it does not disappoint. Amazingly sharp for any photography type but really shines with portraits. Very smooth bokeh all around with little distortion effects

Sharp enough to cut you I have actually heard complaints that this lens was TOO sharp... This lens is one of the best on the market for all the attributes that can be measured. Not just the best Sony lens but one of best out of the tens of thousands of lenses that have ever been released by any m...

Clarity and Sharpness Overload This lens will have you scrambling for the luminance slider in photoshop yes its that sharp. I shoot mainly portraits and this lens is the god of sharpness. I do a lot of boudoir where a 35mm and 55mm are the lenses I got to for the restriction of the space. It is a ...

Great Lens after all !! With no previous exposure to Sony Alpha system. I am pleasantly surprised how well this Len performs despite it was launched years ago. One of the sharpest lens ever used with pleasant colour and bokeh. The AF is doing well wide open. Only the 55mm focal length makes it sli...

Excellence I have used the Sonnar T for a while now and only have good things to say about it. A great prime for indoors and portraiture. I highly recommend it.
